The studio saw the light of the day in the year 2009. This Dance Academy was created on the lines of international standards to primarily focus on Indian classical dance. The name of the academy “The Blue Light Dance Studio” was originally given by Late Sri, Anurakta, who hailed from United Kingdom. He was one of the greatest disciple of Sree Aurobindo & Mother and was also an active ashramite of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry till he breath his last. The words BLUE LIGHT depicts the blue rays of blessings of LORD KRISHNA.

Why Blue light Dance Studio?
The priority of the dance studio was to create an atmosphere, teach the basic tenets of Indian Art & Culture and finally nurturing the students to become exponents in this vast area of the ancient Indian Art & Culture. Infact, the whole programme at this centre is designed not only to train a dancer in the best possible way but also to aid in the growth of a child into a well rounded and gifted individual.

Founder & Creative Head
Sri Janmejay Mohanty who is the founder and creative head of the studio holds a management degree and presently a staunch devotee of Sree Aurobindo & Mother and a prominent Aurovilian residing in Auroville International Township, Tamil Nadu. After 14 long years in corporate world his passion for Indian Art & Culture made him quit his lucrative jobs and drove him to the vast of and culture of our country. Being an Aurovilian, he is an active participant in all such events related to promotion of Indian Art & Culture in Auroville International Township, Tamil Nadu. A highly motivated man and with his die hard dedication, he realised his dreams by setting up a state-of-the-art dance academy in the year 2009. His prime focus is to link Indian Art & Culture specifically to promote and popularize Odissi Dance
