The studio saw the light of the day in the year 2009. This Dance Academy was created on the lines of international standards to primarily focus on Indian classical dance. The name of the academy “The Blue Light Dance Studio” was originally given by Late Sri, Anurakta, who hailed from United Kingdom. He was one of the greatest disciple of Sree Aurobindo & Mother and was also an active ashramite of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry till he breath his last. The words BLUE LIGHT depicts the blue rays of blessings of LORD KRISHNA.

FACE LIFT OF THE STUDIO

After a decade Sri Janmejay Mohanty took a leap forward and pushed this academy to a new era with outstanding and unmatched qualities. With religious efforts he nurtured the infancy stage of the STUDIO which gradually made a metamorphosis to a TEMPLE of art & culture. So to say, this platform will be one of it’s kind where the focus will be on ancient art & culture of our country and the depiction of such treasured things by passionate talents, young and old across the country and the world. Apart from the above, the main mission of the academy is to delve into talent huntings in rural areas, villages, slums, orphanages and destitute homes. After much research, the dance academy has picked up 7 numbers of children of weaker section of the society, provided them food, accommodation, free dance training etc. By the grace of God they have been prepared to perform on stages along with the founder Sri Janmejay & his performing team and to get exposures before the world.

The priority of the dance studio was to create an atmosphere, teach the basic tenets of Indian Art & Culture and finally nurturing the students to become exponents in this vast area of the ancient Indian Art & Culture. ACHEIVEMENTS MADE SINCE 2009

Till date this dance academy has enrolled more than 1000 students and this platform has helped us in nurturing, training and tapping the artistic potentials of such students.

Padmini Patnaik an erstwhile student participated in a reality show in “India’s Dancing Superstar” on STAR PLUS and clinched the 2nd runners up award. 

 

Miss Labanya Das, one more student also bagged a top position with her outstanding performances in “Prince & Princess International Event” at Thailand in the year 2018.

Founder & Creative Head

Sri Janmejay Mohanty who is the founder and creative head of the studio holds a management degree and presently a staunch devotee of Sree Aurobindo & Mother and a prominent Aurovilian residing in Auroville International Township, Tamil Nadu. After 14 long years in corporate world his passion for Indian Art & Culture made him quit his lucrative jobs and drove him to the vast of and culture of our country. Being an Aurovilian, he is an active participant in all such events related to promotion of Indian Art & Culture in Auroville International Township, Tamil Nadu. A highly motivated man and with his die hard dedication, he realised his dreams by setting up a state-of-the-art dance academy in the year 2009. His prime focus is to link Indian Art & Culture specifically to promote and popularize Odissi Dance
